Chancellor Ferebee & Mayor Bowser announced that DCPS will start School Year 2020-2021 virtually

August 1, 2020 Dear SWWFS Community,

We’ve missed you! It is our hope that you are well and finding ways to keep cool during these very hot summer days.   On July 30, 2020, Chancellor Ferebee and Mayor Bowser announced that DCPS will start School Year 2020-2021 virtually with all students learning at home. This plan will last at least through Term 1 from August 31 to November 6. Our team is working hard to design structures and practices which prioritize safety, maximize learning, and provide equitable access to resources and supports. With that in mind, we have developed structured schedules that include interactive lessons and independent learning. Look forward to more detailed information in our upcoming welcome back newsletter.  DCPS will  ensure that families have the technology resources necessary for a strong reopening  in the fall.  There is still time to  complete the brief  technology access survey  to share your family’s device and internet access needs.    As additional support, DCPS will provide Parent University  virtual workshops to help families focus on learning at home in the fall. You can RSVP at  Please click the link #ReopenStrong to access the latest information from DCPS.   If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.  Be Safe, Stay Healthy & Be Kind!
