“Ferebee Friday” Near You!

Dear DC Public Schools Community:

I am honored to join DC Public Schools (DCPS) as Chancellor. Since joining the district, I have seen the great things that attracted me to serving the students and families of DC, and I have felt the passion and energy in our communities.

As I transition into my new role, I am focused on understanding what it means to be a DCPS student – their dreams, their challenges, and their lived experiences inside and outside of the classroom. I will be visiting schools, attending parent and family meetings, and meeting with community leaders across all eight wards.

I also want to meet you at some of your favorite local businesses and community spots! I hope that you will take the opportunity to engage with me in your neighborhood for “Ferebee Friday” on the dates and times listed below. You are always welcome to join the conversation online by following me on Twitter @DCPSChancellor.

I look forward to meeting you, hearing from you, and getting to know the city my family and I will call home. Through our continued partnership with students, families, and communities, we can ensure every student from Pre-K to 12th grade receives a high-quality education that prepares them to take advantage of the growth and opportunity in our thriving city.

In Partnership,

Lewis D. Ferebee Chancellor, DC Public Schools
