IN LIVING COLOR MUSEUM (K-4)
During Black History Month, K-4th grade students will be featured as Unsung African-American heroes who have greatly impacted our nation. These heroes may not be as famous as their counterparts, but their contributions are essential to the growth of our nation! Swing by the SWWFS auditorium and check out our student version of the National Museum of African-American History and Culture on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, from 12 pm- 1:30 pm.
RHYTHM OF OUR ROOTS (ECE - 2ND GRADE)
Get ready to clap your hands and tap your feet as you move to the beat of our children performing at this year's Rhythm of Our Roots Black History program! Students will be performing various musical selections to honor Black Artists on February 15, 2019, at 9:30 am in the auditorium. Please join us and feel the beat!
FADE TO BLACK PERFORMANCE
Students in grades 3-8 will share their talents using music, dance, poetry, and step to highlight the history and contributions of African-Americans throughout arts, science, activism, media, and much more. This year, we will host not one, but TWO Fade to Black productions. Our first showing will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 1 pm and the other on Thursday, February 28, 2019, starting at 5:30 pm. Both shows are FREE, but the performances will be priceless. Mark your calendars, set a reminder, and tell your family and friends to come out and celebrate Black history in a way that they never have before. This amazing educational arts experience is one you don’t want to miss.
